This post is way overdue, seeing that I’ve been dying to get these boots for YEARS! I finally tried them on in NYC about a year ago, but I couldn’t bring myself to purchase them with the steep price tag. I kept an eye on them though and set all kinds of sales alerts. For those of you who personally know me, you know that patience is just not my thing, so the fact that I didn’t just go ahead and get them is shocking enough in and of itself.
Just as my patience was wearing thin, the flat version went on sale on Net-a-Porter, and I pounced! I was so excited…until I received an email saying they couldn’t fulfill my order. I wrote a very irritated email, and the customer service rep said they would honor the price if they got the boots back in stock. A few weeks later, as Christmas was nearing, I found them on sale again at Nordstrom. BUT, they didn’t have my size. Disappointment settled in again, but I was not to be deterred.
I just decided to check the Stuart Weitzman website on a whim, and what do you know? They were 40% off! I’ve never completed a purchase so quickly, and I couldn’t be more happy with them. They’re super comfortable, which is not expected in a boot like this. The suede is so smooth and supple. I’ve worn them all day without any issues.
We ended up having to do this photoshoot in a drizzle, and they didn’t get messed up at all. I was really concerned, but it ended up working out without any issues, even though I had to trek through some dirt for a couple of the shots.
Believe it or not, this is my favorite shirt of all time from J.Crew. I bought it years ago, and it finally bit the dust right after this shoot. I bent over to pick something up, and the armpit ripped! It had a good run though, and I placed an order for a new one as soon as J.Crew ran a sale.
It works well with so many outfits, and it’s relaxed and comfortable. You really can’t go wrong adding a chambray shirt to your wardrobe.
Sometimes, you can make a find in an unexpected place if you just take a little advice from a friend (or sister). When my sister and I went to Seattle, we were browsing in Zara, and she wanted to check out the children’s section for my niece.
Well, we happened across these fur vests, and she told me to just try it on in the largest size. I hesitated and was quite skeptical. She kept insisting though, so I finally did. Well, it actually fit, AND it was on sale for only $20. I couldn’t resist such a deal since I’d been wanting a fur vest for awhile.
I hope you have a great week!
