Happy Easter! I hope you all are having a great day. I have to be honest – I haven’t gotten out of bed yet, and I’m just fine with that. March was an incredibly crazy month with work, and I just need to decompress and do NOTHING.
I shot this look a couple of months back, and I’ve had the outfit for about four years now. Crazy that it took me so long to shoot it, because it’s one of my favorite outfits.
I absolutely love shopping when I travel. To me, it’s so much better than bringing back a regular souvenir that might end up in the trashcan eventually.
It’s kinda funny, because I don’t really like going to brick and mortar shopping locations in Houston. I prefer to do the majority of my shopping online, but there’s just something about being on vacation that gives me the itch to drop into some local shops.
When I was in Melbourne, Australia in 2014, I spent some time in the shopping district and ended up spending over an hour in Cue. The price point is more than I like to spend on clothes, but I justified it by telling myself I wouldn’t be back there anytime soon – plus, the clothes are so elegant and unique.
Cue reminds me a bit of Ted Baker London, and since this exact outfit isn’t available anymore, I linked a similar Ted Baker skirt. I love a black satin pencil skirt with pops of color and an interesting pattern. This pattern reminds me of paintbrush strokes in muted shades of pink and blue.
I love this versatile shirt as well. I wear it with white or dark denim when I’m not pairing it with this skirt. I was drawn to the slight peplum flare and the structured fit. It’s one of my favorites, and I was pretty upset when I stained it in Austin in 2016. Thank goodness for a good dry cleaner!
I hope you all have a great week. It’s going to be a four day work week for me because I’m headed to Miami on Friday to celebrate my birthday. I’m so excited!
